I just talked with my dear friend, Sarika from ICS. I found out some really sad news. Yesterday, one of the P1 students (Kindergarten) died unexpectedly. The student had been ill for some time and her parents had taken her to many doctors but they all thought it had to do with her asthma. On Thursday, she was taken to the hospital and was diagnosed with stage 3 leukemia. Sometime that day she went into cardiac arrest. They were able to revive her but she died that evening. It was very unexpected for everyone. Her sister is in Sarika's fourth grade class and the whole class is having a very difficult time with it.
The student's teacher, Janet, is also struggling as her students do not fully understand especially since she was at school on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Wednesday school was canceled because of a Typhoon. (As Sarika, said the typhoon day allowed her last day to be at home with her family).
Please pray for this family. Pray for her parents, especially her father because he is an oncologist. Pray for her grandmother because she is not a believer. Pray for Sarika and her class as they grieve together and help Rachel through this very difficult time. Pray for the ICS family. It is a close family. Pray that God will bring people to Him through this. The student was a believer and full of joy. She loved Jesus and she was always happy.
